Integrity or Unemployment Integrity is legislation introduced across the nation after the Great Recession. In 2011, several state unemployment trust funds were heavily depleted from high unemployment rates, resulting in loans from the federal government to cover astronomically high unemployment costs. UI Integrity, in summary, is the prohibition of relieving employers of benefit charges to their unemployment tax account when 1) The overpayment was caused by the employers’ failure to provide timely or adequate information in response to a request related to benefits, and 2) The employer has established a pattern of failing to respond properly.
