Pennsylvania recently moved to a new unemployment system and the transition has not been smooth for many employers or TPAs.  CCC has been in communication with individuals at the Office of Unemployment Compensation regarding the various issues, the most important being the large numbers of fraudulent unemployment claims that we are receiving.

Recently CCC received the following communication on September 22, 2021, from the Head of Initial Claims with the Commonwealth in response to CCC’s Vice President of Operations, Fiona Moran’s inquiry into the issue.

“Thank you for sending on this information, and the increase in fraudulent claims over the past couple of weeks has indeed been noted by Pennsylvania. Our understanding is that some individuals have been able to bypass the ID.me verification service when filing initial claim applications, but this loophole is expected to be fixed by our IT department this week, which should then prevent any more fraudulent claims from being filed.”
