On December 27, 2020, the President signed H.R.133 – Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 which Congress passed on December 21, 2020. This bill included an approximately $900 billion coronavirus relief bill, which provides provisions to extend certain unemployment insurance (UI) provisions found in the CARES Act that was passed in March. The short title to this portion of the bill is titled the “Continued Assistance for Unemployed Workers Act of 2020” and extends many of the provisions of the CARES Act through March 14, 2021, with a few additional provisions as well. CCC’s Updated Guide includes our summary of this legislation and we will be updating information and states implement these changes. Check back for frequent updates!
