CARES Act Response:

Work Search Requirements have been waived

The 1-week Waiting Period has been waived to expedite payment of benefits to claimants

Claims Filing Updates:

Due to a complete collapse of the Florida on-line unemployment claims system both on-line and paper applications for benefits will be accepted. It is important to note that there will be a delay in receiving benefits. As of April 20, 2020 Florida reported that over 1.5 million people applied for benefits but, just over 40,000 had received payment.

An emergency hearing has been set due to a lawsuit which is aimed at pressuring the State of Florida to speed up the distribution of unemployment benefits.

The paper application for benefits can be downloaded here: http://www.floridajobs.org/Reemployment-Assistance-Service-Center/reemployment-assistance/claimants/rapaperapplication

On-line applications are accepted here: https://fileaclaim.myflorida.com

For all applicants for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), which is for people who are not eligible for benefits through “regular” unemployment assistance, if you applied on or after April 5, 2020 you will need to reapply. That link is found here: https://fileaclaim.myflorida.com

Tips for filing:

Specific claimants have been instructed to refile their unemployment claim with a modified date to reflect the current quarter. Claimants may do that here: https://claimdate.myflorida.com/recertification Please instruct claimants to carefully review the guidelines included on this page before modifying the date on their claim.

Mass Email Filing:

Florida has issued an emergency order allowing employers to file employer-assisted mass filings. Specific outlines are included here.

“Mass separation” means the full, partial, permanent or temporary separation of 1,000 or more full-time employees from the same employing unit, at or around the same time, due to circumstances related to COVID-19

Corporate Cost Control is not able to handle Mass Separations for Clients in the state of Florida

General Information:

CCC has experienced numerous errors with claimant eligibility. Many are being denied who should be eligible.  CCC is assuming there will be a considerable number of errors related to employer charges and we are preparing for that influx.

Florida has disabled the Employer Phone Hot-line limiting CCC’s contact with the state. CCC will update our clients with any information we receive from the state as soon as we can.
