This year, I will have been with Corporate Cost Control for 13 years. Wow! That so weird to see it in writing. CCC is not the first Workforce Solutions provider I’ve worked for.  I started in 1993 at The Gibbens Company and continued when they were acquired by GatesMcDonald.  I learned and enjoyed those experiences. They taught me about unemployment throughout the country, but they also taught me a lot more. I learned about customer service, critical thinking, problem-solving and much more.

In 2002, GatesMcDonald was acquired by another company.  I left that organization a short nine months later, after being told that all individuals in my position (Account Executive) were “worthless” and then being treated as such. The only thing that mattered was sales, and if you weren’t a sales executive, you were worthless.  At the same time, the wonderful leaders that I had worked under, were no longer in charge, replaced by individuals who only cared about the bottom line, the customer was a nuisance.  And the icing on the cake was the elimination of the tools to truly effectively provide a great customer experience. If it couldn’t be automated, it was out. NO PERSONALIZATION.

I briefly went to work in another industry but found that I missed Unemployment Compensation. Believe me; I was surprised too!  So in 2006, I put my resume out to those I had remained in contact within the industry.  I interviewed with CCC, among others, and their customer-focused philosophy was most like where I “grew up” in the industry, making CCC my first pick for returning to Unemployment Cost Management Consulting.

In 2009, Jay and Tim Rooney, the former owners of Jon-Jay Associates, acquired CCC. Acquired again! You may think, I was concerned about how their acquisition was going to affect me and the clients I served. But you are wrong; I was delighted. Jon-Jay Associates was the premiere Unemployment Cost Management Consulting company in the industry prior to their acquisition.

Jay and Tim infused CCC with upgraded technology that CCC continues to invest in today. They have also built an amazing team of individuals that believe a “high touch, high tech,” customer-focused approach is the key to success. I work, again, with the most dedicated amazing individuals in the industry and even the organizations that CCC has acquired under the Rooneys, have been absolutely amazing to work with.

I’ve also had the ability to learn about other Workforce Solutions, including CCC Verify, our Employment & Income Verification Services. I have also had the recent opportunity to work with our dedicated Tax Credit & Incentives team at Mars Stout. Whether I am dealing with our UI group, Employment & Income Verification or Tax Credit & Incentives teams, it is apparent they are passionate about providing the best service, with best people and the latest and greatest technology.

At CCC, I’ve had the unique ability to be a part of a leadership team with the strategies to grow the business not by discounting the client experience to cut costs, but at CCC we continue to look for ways enhance the client experience, which has resulted in more employers becoming clients. This growth continues to result in CCC adding systems and services that truly benefit not only our people but the clients we serve.

On a more personal level, CCC has provided me room to grow, from Account Executive to Communications Director. Allowing me and my team to work to develop internal and external training programs through CCC University, providing informative news articles & bulletins to keep our clients up-to-date with the latest news in all of our product lines, designing the most interactive and comprehensive website in the Workforce Solutions industry and much much more.

I am grateful to have a place at the table at CCC. Yes, that’s right, I LOVE my job.
