The national unemployment improper payment rate ranges from 2.5% to 22.6%, with Michigan having the highest rate at 44.96%.  This means that nearly half of all Michigan claimants are receiving benefits that they are not eligible to collect.  While Michigan may have the highest, errors affect all employers in all states. For reimbursable employers, this means a direct dollar loss as they reimburse the state for all benefits paid out on their behalf.  For taxpaying employers, this can have even greater consequences, as these errors can result in an increased tax rate.

In the history of UI Compensation Consulting, each provider would argue how many points they audit during the Benefit Charge Auditing process.  CCC breaks our audit down to these six points; we know that all others fall into these categories.

To ensure timely processing CCC recommends that CCC be the Address of Record for all unemployment related items. This allows CCC to begin processing much more quickly!  However, if you do receive a Statement of Benefit Charges at your location, please forward immediately to uidocs@corporatecostcontrol.com so that we may audit the statement and protest any erroneous charges on your behalf keeping your tax rate as low as possible.
