leaderSome of our clients have one central point of contact that our claims analysts at CCC reach out to for information on an unemployment claim. However, many of our clients have several field managers or store managers that are responsible for giving CCC information on each unemployment claim. As you can imagine, the store or field managers have several other responsibilities, in addition to unemployment claims. More often than not, the unemployment claims tend to take a back seat to other priorities that they have.  Our Account Executives at CCC take it upon themselves to ensure all of our client contacts, from corporate HR to field managers, are educated on the importance of responding to unemployment claims timely and with adequate information.

CCC Account Executives will run quarterly noncompliance reports for each client and breakdown the reports by area, location, or manager to see where the problems may exist. If there are some managers that are not responding, the CCC Account Executives will conduct targeted training for those specific location managers. If there is a compliance problem among a majority of the store managers, then the Account Executive may hold a webinar that all of the store managers can attend to learn the importance of responding to unemployment claims. Through this training, we will underscore the cost of each claim lost due to non-compliance to the company and specifically to that location’s bottom line.

Another method our Account Executives use to increase the awareness of timely compliance with information requests related to unemployment claims is to create a friendly competition amongst the location managers. This may mean running monthly, or weekly non-compliance reports by store location and associating a dollar amount for what each store manager has cost the company by not replying to unemployment claims. We find that showing the store managers the actual dollar amount they are losing brings a significant increase in awareness. Also, comparing them, company-wide, with their peers, also gets their attention.

Ultimately, this type of proactive approach to field compliance increases the overall effectiveness of an unemployment program and saves the employer a significant amount of money each year.
