Whenever an unemployment claim comes across your desk, do you take action or do you let it slide? Hello again, and thanks for watching.
Unemployment insurance can be a tricky part of any business, but accepting every claim from a previous employee isn’t the answer.
In fact, this can be a good way to rack up some serious expenses. Instead, be proactive to keep your costs down. Respond promptly to every claim. In some cases, you can even protest.
Don’t forget to document all your employee misconduct as well. Sometimes, proving that the termination was warranted is all it takes to overturn a claim.
If you have any questions about the unemployment insurance process, please reach out to us at Corporate Cost Control. We’ll see you next time.
